Making History: Forney Girls Varsity Soccer Advances to Regional Semifinals

Forney High Lady Rabbits defeated Joshua Friday, April 2nd at Hanby Stadium in the U.I.L. State Soccer Regional Quarterfinals.  Goals were scored by Bianca Salazar, Kaitlyn Johnson, and Chloe Chadwick. The final score ended 3-2 with the Lady Rabbits claiming the title of “Regional Quarterfinal Champions”.   With this win, the Lady Rabbits have set a record for the deepest playoff run in the school’s history.  The Lady Rabbits finished district 12-2 with their only district loss to Highland Park.  The current overall record is 22-6-1 going into tonight’s playoff game.  The Lady Rabbits will face Frisco Wakeland tonight at 7:00 P.M. at Carrollton’s Standridge Stadium.   The Lady Rabbits are led by captains Belle Enriquez, Delaney Welch, and Megan Wills.  The senior captains have been outstanding in their leadership on and off the field for the Lady Rabbits. The Lady Rabbits theme this year is “Chasing Greatness” and, without a doubt, these girls most certainly are.
